122 Covid deaths push Maha toll above 2,500

With 122 Covid-19 deaths recorded on Wednesday—the highest in a day since the start of the outbreak—Maharashtra’s toll surpassed the 2,500 mark to reach 2,587. The state claimed that the rate of increase of cases has nearly halved from 7.76% on May 1 to 4.15% on June 1 even as 2,560 new cases were added on Wednesday, taking the overall case count to 74,860.
