AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, Son In Trouble Over Noida Petrol Pump Assault

Trouble seems to be mounting for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Amanatullah Khan and his son as the Uttar Pradesh Police is all set to speed up action against the two in the Noida petrol pump assault case.

The police have begun preparations to attach his properties, following orders by a Noida court.

Currently, the AAP legislator is being sent notices for attaching his properties. If they fail to respond to the notice, police will step up their drive and attach his properties, as per court orders.

The 'absconding' duo also applied for anticipatory bail in the case but their plea was rejected by a local court. Following this, they moved to the High Court.

Days ago, the Noida cops also put up 'missing' posters at the residence of the AAP legislator as they failed to trace his whereabouts. A Noida police team had gone to his Okhla residence to interrogate the duo but didn't find them at home, nor could contact them on the phone.

The AAP MLA and his son were charged in a case in Noida for abuse and assault of petrol pump workers.

Amanatullah Khan's son and his aides had thrashed some employees of a Noida petrol pump in Sector 95 and the video of the violent assault also went viral on social media.

In the CCTV footage, his son and aides could be seen jumping the queue at the petrol pump and then engaging in a physical spat, when objected to by staff.

Following the blatant day-light violence, his son and aides were booked by the Noida cops for creating disorder. Later, Amanatullah also reached the fuel station and got into a fracas with the employees.

Notably, the Noida Police have been on the hunt for the duo for the past few days but have yet to make any headway. The duo already have an NBW issued against them.

Chinese Scientists Unveil Potential Diabetes Cure With New Cell Therapy

In a promising development for millions with diabetes, researchers in China have reported a potential cure using cell therapy. The study, published in the journal Cell Discovery, details the successful treatment of a 59-year-old man with type 2 diabetes.

The patient, who had been battling the disease for 25 years and relied on daily insulin injections, underwent an innovative cell transplant in July 2021. The procedure involved creating lab-grown replicas of insulin-producing islet cells, found in the pancreas, which were then transplanted into the patient.

According to a report in the South China Morning Post, the treatment proved remarkably successful. Within eleven weeks, the patient no longer required external insulin. Over the following year, he gradually reduced and eventually stopped taking oral medication for blood sugar control. Follow-up examinations confirmed a restored function in the patient's pancreatic islet cells, allowing him to remain medication-free for over 33 months.

While this is a single-patient case study, experts view it as a significant breakthrough in cell therapy for diabetes. Professor Timothy Kieffer, a researcher at the University of British Columbia, called it "an important advance in the field." However, further large-scale trials are needed to confirm the efficacy and safety of this approach before it can be widely used as a treatment.

This news brings hope to millions of people with diabetes. More research is needed, but this successful cell therapy trial could lead to a future without the disease.

Diabetes around the world

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) paints a concerning picture: By 2021, an estimated 537 million adults aged 20-79 already had diabetes. This number is projected to explode, reaching 643 million by 2030 and a staggering 783 million by 2045. This translates to 1 in 8 adults globally projected to have diabetes by 2045, a 46% increase.

Even more alarming is the unequal distribution of this burden. A staggering 3 out of 4 adults with diabetes live in low- and middle-income countries. These statistics highlight the growing global challenge of diabetes and the urgent need for effective prevention and management strategies, particularly focused on supporting developing nations.

Who's The Real Monster? A Study Reveals Marsupials' Biggest Fear

Studies have found that wildlife around the world fears humans, the 'super predator', more than other well-known predators like lions, leopards, bears, and wolves. The most recent research in Australia, conducted by Western University and the University of Tasmania, reveals that marsupials in the country are more afraid of humans than they are of foxes and dogs.

According to the research paper titled "Fear of the Human 'Superpredator' in Native Marsupials and Introduced Deer in Australia," published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Australian marsupials are well aware of the threats humans pose.

Researchers investigated the fear response of four native marsupial species (eastern grey kangaroo, Bennett's wallaby, Tasmanian pademelon, common brushtail possum) and a non-native mammal (fallow deer) by exposing them to recordings of predator vocalisations (human, dog, Tasmanian devil, wolf) and non-threatening sounds (sheep). The results were clear: the marsupials were most afraid of humans, fleeing 2.4 times more often than when exposed to any other predator. They were also significantly more vigilant in responding to human sounds. This research adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting that wildlife around the world views humans as the top threat.

"These results greatly expand the growing experimental evidence that wildlife worldwide perceives humans as the planet's most frightening predator," said Zanette, a renowned wildlife ecologist. "The very substantial fear of humans demonstrated here and in comparable recent experiments can be expected to have dramatic ecological consequences because other new research has established that fear itself can reduce wildlife numbers and that fear of humans can cause cascading impacts on multiple species throughout entire landscapes."

As per the press release, to conduct their experiment, the team deployed hidden automated camera-speaker systems that, when triggered by an animal passing within a short distance (approximately 10 metres, or 30 feet), filmed the response to humans speaking calmly, dogs barking, Tasmanian devils snarling, wolves howling, or non-threatening controls, such as sheep bleating.

"Global surveys show humans kill prey at much higher rates than other predators, making humans a'super predator,' and the profound fear of humans being revealed in wildlife everywhere is wholly consistent with humanity's unique lethality," said Zanette. "Humans are 'the invisible killer' insofar as we do not often think of ourselves as a major predator, let alone the most dangerous, but wildlife clearly think differently and recognise us for what we are."

UK Tourists Assaulted By Bouncers In Thailand: Video Shows Vicious Beating

A British tourist is in a coma fighting for his life after a security guard at a bar in Pattaya, Thailand, kicked him in the head, according to The Metro. The incident, which occurred on Friday night at Helicopters Bar, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a drinks bill.

Disturbing footage circulating online shows the attack. According to reports, an argument erupted between the bar's hostess and three British men over an unpaid portion of their bill. The tourists refused to pay, claiming they were being scammed.

Watch the video here:

After the hostess called security, CCTV captured the tourists settling the bill. However, the situation escalated when one of the tourists allegedly pushed a security guard, triggering a brawl outside the bar.

The video shows three security guards overpowering the British men, with one tourist pleading for mercy while lying on the ground. In a horrific act of violence, a security guard then delivers a full-force kick to the head of the defenceless tourist. The victim is seen unconscious on the ground for several minutes.

Witnesses reported that the tourist is currently in a coma in intensive care. Despite the severity of the attack, Thai police have only issued a warning to the security guards. No arrests have been made as no formal complaint has been filed.

"There's no case open until they complain. We've looked around but can't find them. Yes, we're still checking the CCTV to see what happened to them. There are rumours that he is in intensive care, but we haven't heard anything from hospitals," Sergeant Major Arthon from the Pattaya City police station told The Metro.

New Viral Rage Ritual Trend Has Women Screaming, Smashing Sticks

In a world increasingly fraught with stress, anxiety and frustration, many people are searching for ways to manage their emotions. One such method gaining attention on the internet is "rage ritual", in which women are paying thousands of dollars in the United States to participate in screaming ceremonies and breaking objects. The ritual is meant to effectively release pent-up anger. The ceremony is usually held in forests where women unleash lungfuls of deafening shrieks and use sticks to beat objects on the ground.

Participants are encouraged to think of people and experiences that have wronged them and to scream and swing the sticks for at least 20 minutes, or until they can no longer move their arms.

"It's like, 'Don't be a bitch' or 'Don't be angry' or 'Don't be aggressive' or 'Don't stand up for yourself,' 'Don't protect your integrity,' 'Don't tell anyone that they don't have consent to touch your body or speak to you in a certain way.' There are particular emotions that are accepted in the gender binary that we each need to feel. Men need to cry - and it's so healthy for men to cry - and women need to be able to get angry," Mia Banducci, who holds such rituals, told USA Today.

She has held many such ceremonies, which have evolved from small events for friends to overnight retreats. One such endeavour ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 in cost.

There is a shorter one-day version too that costs $222 per ticket.

Kimberly Helmus, one of the participants, revealed what she feels about the ceremony.

"There's no place where you can see women be able to be angry like that and it not be condemned: 'She's just hormonal. She's just unhinged. She's just crazy. She's just on her period. She's just, whatever.' This was a place where you were, probably for the first time in a really, really long time, if ever, able to scream out loud things about how you felt," Ms Helmus told the outlet.

She took part in a rage ritual two and a half years after her divorce.

These ceremonies have gone viral on TikTok, where they have resonated with women. Many of them have described how they feel to see other women vent out their anger - something that they say society discourages them from doing.

And while venting out, some unexpected emotions also arise. Ms Helmus said instead of anger against her husband, she felt the grief she'd been holding onto since witnessing the death of a friend when she was 15.

Psychotherapists, however, say there is one-size-fits-all solution to deal with anger. Psychotherapist Stephanie Sarkis told USA Today that some people handle rage with activating strategies, like hitting a punching bag or doing an intense workout. For others, soothing strategies, like deep breaths, slow walks or calm music, work better.

IRS Officer Met Woman On Dating App, Her Body Was Found In His Noida Flat

An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, Saurabh Meena, was arrested in connection with the suicide of a woman whose body was discovered hanging from a noose in his upscale Noida apartment.

Saturday afternoon, residents of the posh Lotus Boulevard apartment complex in Noida's Sector 100 were shocked when police personnel rushed to Tower 8 of the society. Upon arriving at Saurabh's flat, they found the body of Shilpa Gautam, a Human Resources official at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), hanging from a rope made of cloth in one of the rooms.

Ms Gautam's family have alleged that Shilpa and Saurabh had been in a relationship for the past three years. They reportedly met through a dating app, and their relationship soon blossomed. Shilpa's father, OP Gautam, has accused Saurabh of deceit and physical abuse, claiming that the IRS officer had promised to marry Shilpa but failed to honour his commitment, leading to frequent arguments and alleged physical assaults.

Saurabh countered that although he met Shilpa through a dating app, it was three months ago and not three years ago as Shilpa's family have claimed.

In his complaint to the Sector-39 police, OP Gautam went a step further, accusing Saurabh of murdering his daughter. He alleged that Saurabh lured Shilpa with false promises of marriage and repeatedly mistreated her. The police registered a case and arrested Saurabh.

According to Manish Kumar Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Noida, the police presented Saurabh at a court, and he has been remanded to judicial custody. "All aspects of the case are being investigated meticulously," Mr Mishra stated. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death. In the meantime, they are also scrutinising the mobile phones of both individuals and analysing CCTV footage from the society to piece together the sequence of events leading to Shilpa's death.

"Can't Run Game Zone At Cost Of Children Being Killed": Gujarat High Court

The Gujarat High Court on Monday lamented the heart-breaking death of 28 people, including nine children, after a fire ripped through a gaming zone in Rajkot that lacked the required permits.

The gaming zone - backed by six partners, of whom only two have been arrested so far, was set up in 2021, but did not apply for a fire safety certificate till this year, the court was told.

"This incident is an eye-opener. System's eyes have opened after the death of innocent children. Such a game zone cannot be run at the cost of small children being killed," the court said, directing the ruling BJP to file, as an affidavit, the report to be submitted a special investigative team.

The team - set up immediately after the blaze - had been given 72 hours to file a report (the provisional deadline, therefore, is Wednesday), but an interim document expected today.

"How can a game zone run without permission under the nose of the (city) corporation... of the local police station?" it asked, "When will families stop losing loved ones due to man-made tragedies? This needs to be answered..." The court directed all concerned civic bodies and fire departments to take necessary steps to ensure rules are followed for all structures, temporary or otherwise.

Latest and Breaking News on NDTV

"Innocent people of the state should not die in fires like this," the court also said, adding, "Such incidents like this are happening due to violation of fire safety rules."

For the Rajkot incident, the court has demanded the municipal body chief and the concerned civic officers inform it of steps taken since 2021 to ensure city buildings are up to code; city officials and the state received a sharp reprimand earlier today after admitting that gaming zones in Rajkot and Ahmedabad did not have certain permits, including a critical NOC from the Fire Department.

"We can file contempt of court (charges)... but it is not necessary at this stage," a furious court warned the heads of the Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot municipal body chiefs.

The Chief Fire Officer of each city has also been hauled up; s/he has been told to submit an affidavit that details fire safety exits and equipment available at gaming zones in their jurisdiction.

They have also been told to submit reports for future planning. "The concerned corporation officials, including the commissioner, have to be fixed," the court stressed.

Earlier today the Gujarat High Court said it could no longer "trust" the state government, which is controlled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP. This was after the Rajkot municipal body told the court its approval - for building and running the game zone - had not been taken.

"This has been going on for two-and-a-half years (referring to the Rajkot gaming zone). Are we to assume you turned a blind eye? What do you and your followers do?" the court thundered.

The hearing then went from bad to worse for the Rajkot municipal body after photographs showed officials at the gaming zone. "Who were these officers? Did they go there to play?" the court asked.

The court also ripped into the state government.

UK Man Eats Exotic Fruit In Mexico, Left With Completely Burnt Face

A tourist from the United Kingdom suffered third-degree burns across his face after he bit into an exotic fruit in Mexico. Thomas Harold Watson said that he was in enormous pain while he was sightseeing in Campeche, in the Yucatan peninsula, as per a report in the New York Post.

"I could not believe the pain just from biting into one case," the 28-year-old said, about the incident which occurred on May 1. The worker from Bedfordshire was walking at a nearby market when he spotted a stall selling cashew apples, the fruits that are stuffed with the nut of the same name. Mr Watson, who regularly posts updates from his travels on Instagram, decided to try the fruit after learning that it was edible.

"You can eat the cashew apple fruit, it's meant to be a bit bitter. I'd heard about it but never tried it in the flesh, so I bought it, went for a walk and started eating a few different fruits," he said.

Describing his first bite, he said, "I thought I'd open it up - it felt like a passion fruit, and I bit into this sac which exploded straight away. Instantly it felt like fire, I could feel this fire going across my mouth." However, trouble began the next day when he woke up. His face was severely burnt and "scabby", seeming like it was doused with acid.

"When my lips were all burnt they literally felt like they'd be dissolved, it felt like my lip had gone like baking paper for three or four days," he recalled, adding that his hands were also discoloured.

Mr Watson later used Google search to understand the hazard. Notably, the caustic combination of cardol and anacardic acid found in cashew fruit can result in blisters when it comes into contact with the skin.

Even then, the 28-year-old did not go to the hospital because he did not want to pay a hefty medical bill. He said that the recovery process is still painful. "A couple of days ago I was able to peel off my whole lip, it was a couple of inches wide. They're still quite burnt up and not great but way better than they were."

"It's always good to eat local foods but I guess it's also good to have a bit of knowledge about them," he said.

Charge Your Laptop In A Minute And Cars In 10 Minutes. Details Here

An Indian-origin researcher and his team have unveiled a novel technology that can charge an electric car in 10 minutes and a dead laptop and phone in a minute. As per a report by news agency IANS, this new technology has been discovered by Ankur Gupta, an assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering at the US-based University of Colorado Boulder and his team of researchers.

In a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers discovered the movement of ions—tiny charged particles—within a complex network of microscopic pores.

As per Mr Gupta, the development of more efficient storage devices like supercapacitors can be accelerated by this breakthrough discovery.

Mr Gupta mentioned that a supercapacitor is an energy storage device that depends on ion collection in their pores. It is worth noting that in comparison to batteries, supercapacitors have fast charging times and longer life spans.

The assistant professor noted that this discovery is crucial not only for storing energy in EVs and electronic devices but also for power grids.

About power grids, Mr Gupta said that fluctuating energy needs efficient storage to avoid waste during periods of low demand and ensure speedy delivery during periods of high demand.

The team of researchers also claimed that the primary appeal of supercapacitors lies in their speed.

The researchers also said that in just minutes, this discovery allows the simulation and prediction of ion flow in a complicated network of thousands of interconnected pores. They explained that before this discovery, the movements of ions were only defined in the literature in one straight pore.

A report by Phys.org quoted Ankur Gupta as saying, “Given the critical role of energy in the future of the planet, I felt inspired to apply my chemical engineering knowledge to advancing energy storage devices. It felt like the topic was somewhat underexplored and, as such, the perfect opportunity.”

He added, “The primary appeal of supercapacitors lies in their speed. So how can we make their charging and release of energy faster? By the more efficient movement of ions. That's the leap of the work. We found the missing link.”

Ticketless People Swarm AC 3 Tier On Brahmaputra Express, Video Goes Viral

In recent months, social media has been flooded with videos showing a troubling trend: ticketless passengers occupying reserved coaches on Indian trains. This widespread issue is causing significant inconvenience and frustration for passengers who have paid for reservations.

One such video, shared by a passenger named Vijay Kumar on social media platform 'X', recently went viral. The video depicts a chaotic scene on the Brahmaputra Express at Patna Junction. The 3AC coach, meant for a limited number of passengers with reservations, resembled a crowded marketplace due to the overwhelming number of unauthorised passengers.

Mr Kumar recounted the ordeal, stating that he and his family had difficulty boarding the train and securing their reserved seats. He expressed frustration, saying, "The AC-3 coach has been taken over by general passengers. No one cares for any rule." The video showed overflowing aisles, highlighting the lack of space for ticketed passengers.

Watch the video here:

Mr Kumar further revealed that he had booked 8 seats for his family, but only 6 were accessible due to the presence of unauthorised passengers. He expressed his disappointment, stating that not only did general ticket holders occupy reserved coaches, but there were even passengers without tickets.

These viral videos raise serious concerns about the effectiveness of current measures to prevent ticketless travel. The large number of unauthorised passengers in reserved compartments creates an unpleasant and uncomfortable travel experience for passengers who have paid for reservations.

SRH vs RR: Which Team Will Enter Final If IPL Qualifier 2 Is Washed Out?

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will battle it out in Qualifier 2 of the  Indian Premier League (IPL) with a place in the final on the line. While SRH lost to finalist Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 1, RR defeated an unpredictable Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator earlier this week. Since three IPL 2024 matches so far have been called off due to rain, the BCCI made all the necessary arrangements in case the weather plays spoilsport in Chennai on Friday.

Unlike last season when only the final had a reserve day, the organisers have added a reserve day for all the playoff matches including the Qualifier 2 between SRH and RR.

Last year, the final was completed on reserve day after rain played spoilsport on the scheduled day. The match, however, will begin from the start on reserve day even if it had begun on the scheduled day.

Keeping that in mind, extra time of up to 120 minutes will be provided over and above the cut-off time in order to make sure that the matches is completed on the scheduled day, if possible.

What if rain plays spoilsport on reserve day too?

If rain plays spoilsport again and Qualifier 2 is washed out on reserve day then the winner will be decided on the league positions of the two teams.

In that case, SRH will qualify for the final as they had finished second while RR were third. Both teams had 17 points each from 14 games but SRH had a NRR of +0.414 as compared to RR's +0.273.

Weather forecast in Chennai

As per Accuweather, the chance of rain in Chennai on Friday is as low as 5%, with the same percentage going upto 10 on the reserve day.

So, it is highly unlikely that the rain could interrupt the proceedings of the Qualifier 2 clash between SRH and RR.

He said that despite this, the fast food company still messed up his order. The The X (formerly Twitter) user, Greg, took to social media to share the incident.

"I ordered a triple cheeseburger with everything removed. Stay tuned to see what happens," Greg wrote on the microblogging platform alongside a picture of an almost $20 bill. The instructions on the bill mentioned, "No Ketchup. NoPickle. No Diced Onions. No1/10 Lb Beef No Mustard. No Regular Bun. No American Cheese. NoSalt."

After confirmation from McDonald's, his delivery partner from DoorDash messaged him informing him that he would only receive an "empty box". Dan wrote, "cheeseburger with everything removed including the bun and meat...so you're gonna get an empty box. You good with that?" To which, Greg replied, "Perfect, thank you".

In a follow-up post, Greg posted a picture of the delivered order. "The goods have arrived and thank goodness they sealed it so Dan didn't steal my meal," he continued.

However, upon opening the package, the user was disappointed since the fast food giant sent the wrong box. "The wrapper and.... A McCrispy box???????? I ordered a freaking triple burger not a McCrispy Somehow they still managed to screw up my order (not your fault Dan if you're reading this)," he continued.

The customer then left McDonald's outlet with a poor review on the food delivery app since he "couldn't stay silent on this." He also informed Dan about the wrong box.

Since being shared, his post has amassed 52 million views on the social media platform.

"$19.81 for air," said a user.

"You need help my friend," wrote another person.

A third said, "Someone is eating a mccrispy from cheeseburger wrapper right now."

"A quite literally a nothingburger," said a person.

"The $11 tip on an empty box is legendary," stated a person.

"Most entertaining thread of the year," said a person.

An X user said, "Packaging waste and pointless carbon emissions for some likes.."

Bengaluru Woman Shops For Footwear While Attending Team Meeting On Laptop

Bengaluru has its very own social media trend called "peak Bengaluru moment", where users share bizarre instances that happen daily in the city. Many stories of "peak Bengaluru" moments that take place in India's IT capital can be found all over the internet. The city is also known for its hustle culture, evident from several pictures and videos that have captured people working from all sorts of odd places. Such posts have also ignited debates on work-life balance and long work hours.

Recently, an X user shared a picture of a woman attending a team meeting on her laptop while shopping for footwear. In the image, the woman is seen holding a laptop while looking at slippers and sandals displayed at a shoe store.

"Today in ⁦@peakbengaluru, I saw a person shoe shopping while attending a team meeting on her laptop,'' the tweet by Karthik Bhaskara read.

Check the tweet here:

The viral picture has left the internet divided. While some were amused by it and cracked jokes, others highlighted the negative impacts of such a culture and called it a ''sad state of affairs.''

One user wrote, ''Could have been done on the phone - both - the meeting and the shoe shopping.''

Another person commented, ''This woman is the reason why companies are asking employees to come back to the office and abolish WFH policies. The problem is, attending a meeting without being present in it 100% is as good as not attending it at all..''

A third user said, ''These are the kind of people who made companies rescind Work From Home policies. Such a sad state. it creates an impression that people in India have no work ethics.''

''My only thought is someone should introduce them to this unique invention called Bluetooth headphones,'' joked a fourth. A fifth user wrote, ''Deciding which shoe to throw at organizer of such useless meetings.''

''Either she is practising the art of 'putting the best foot forward' or trying out 'putting oneself in someone else's shoes' while being in a corporate setting,'' stated another. ''A heel-larious solution for work-life balance,'' joked another.

Before this, an X user shared a picture of a man working on a laptop inside a movie hall. A video of a man attending a Zoom meeting while driving a two-wheeler in a congested street had also previously gone viral, causing a debate about responsible driving and safe commuting habits.

Government Shares Video On How To Spot AI-Generated Images Like A "Pro"

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of mankind's greatest achievements, but the technology is also destructive and dangerous. While generative AI can be used to create incredible things, it can also be used to cause harm.  Case in point: AI-generated images. Such fake images pose significant risks due to their potential to spread misinformation, create deceptive personas, and manipulate public perception.

Recently, the government's Press Information Bureau shared a video on how to identify AI-generated pictures without using technology. The most basic thing is to spot unrealistic details in images like missing fingers, mismatched textures and text anomalies. Spotting strange lighting, objects defying gravity, unrealistic shadows, unusual colour contrasts, highly symmetrical faces or uncanny symmetry of objects are other ways to spot AI-generated images. PIB shared four simple examples to provide a better understanding of the concept. The video also shared that several online tools can aid in identifying such images.

''Become an image detective! Spot AI-generated images like a pro! Watch this video to find out how to look for the details while identifying any AI-generated images,'' PIB Fact Check wrote while sharing the video.

Watch the video here:

Several internet users thanked PIB for the informative and insightful video. Reacting to the video, one user wrote, ''Thank you for making this kind of informative video. I appreciate your hard work behind this video.''

Another person commented, ''Good job PIB.''

The Press Information Bureau launched this fact-checking arm in December 2019, to curb misinformation and fake news prevalent on the internet. It claimed that its objective was ''to identify misinformation related to government's policies and schemes that are circulating on various social media platforms.''

Ohio Police Say HIV-Positive Sex Worker Had 200 Clients, Issue Warning

The police in Ohio have claimed that a sex worker in the area had contact with more than 200 clients despite knowing she was HIV-positive. They have issued a notice, asking people who engaged in the "risky business" with her to come forward and get tested, a report in New York Post said. The sex worker, Linda Leccesse, had sexual contacts with clients for five months - from January to May, 2022. This is around the same time she took an HIV test and learned she was positive for the deadly virus, the outlet further said.

This is categorised as third degree felony in Ohio.

The Post report said that Leccesse solicited most of these clients on Market Street in Marietta - a small city in southeast Ohio on the border of West Virginia - but the possibly infected people are believed to be spread across the East Coast.

"This case could stem anywhere from Florida up the East Coast, but there are local individuals that we will be reaching out to," Washington County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark Warden said in a press conference last week.

Police have started calling known clients of Leccesse and also urging anyone who may have had contact with her.

Anybody who may have been with Leccesse is asked to be "brutally honest" with officials, the Marietta/Belpre Health Department said.

"Marietta/Belpre Health Department is a judgment free zone with full confidentiality," Health Department administrator Barbara Bradley is quoted as saying by the outlet.

Through investigation, agents say they learned and identified at least 211 individuals who had contact with Leccesse, said Fox News.

There are currently no hearings scheduled for Lecesse.

On Friday, the makers of her upcoming film, Mr & Mrs Mahi, released a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram. The nearly 4-minute video is about Janhvi pouring her heart and soul into learning cricket to portray Mahima in the film. In the video, director Sharan Sharma can be heard discussing Janhvi's initial reaction to the role in the film. He mentioned,“ I think when Janhvi came onto this film, she thought, ‘ki haan Gunjan (Saxena) mein bhi mehnat kiya hai. [I have also worked hard for Gunjan Saxena] Done all these drills. What is the big deal? I will play a cricketer, not so hard'… The biggest thing in my head. We need to make Janhvi a cricketer. She knew nothing about the sport. Abhishek (cricket coach), from day 1, really wanted Janhvi to experience the life of a cricketer.”

Janhvi Kapoor's cricket coach, Abhishek Nayar shared how the star went through “rigorous” training to play the role. He shared, “We went to Baroda for a camp. For a 6-day camp, we were there, when Dinesh was also with us. So, we got a lot of experience working with some of these international cricketers, understanding body language, and how they move. From small things of how they walk, how they tap, how they tackle their guard. In terms of training, I think it was as rigorous as anyone would have, when they were preparing for an IPL, if not more.”

In addition to Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao will also be playing a key role in Mr & Mrs Mahi. The film will hit the big screens on May 31.

Kohli's "Yorker Nahi" Masterstroke That Led To Yash Dayal Dismissing Dhoni

Royal Challengers Bengaluru fast bowler Yash Dayal produced a brilliant performance against the likes of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to guide his team to the IPL playoffs with a massive win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 on Saturday. It was a crucial victory for RCB as they piped CSK to reach the IPL 2024 playoffs. While Dayal showed tremendous grit to clinch the game for his team despite MS Dhoni hitting a mammoth six on the first ball of the over, It was an advice from Virat Kohli that helped the young pacer in claiming the CSK legend's wicket. Dayal looked a bit nervous after Dhoni slammed the first ball of the final over for a 110m six but Virat quickly ran to the bowler and asked him to play to his strengths.

"Yorker nahi, slower ball daal (Not the yorker. Go for the slower delivery," he said.

It proved to be the correct tactic as Dayal delivered a slower delivery next and Dhoni ended up mistiming his pull shot completely. The ball went high up in the air and Swapnil Singh completed a crucial catch.

Dhoni was visibly upset at the dismissal and he smashed his bat in frustration. The wicket ultimately proved to be very important as CSK fell short of the target and were eliminated from the playoffs race.

RCB captain Faf Du Plessis dedicated his Man of the Match award to Yash Dayal.

"I dedicate this Man of the Match to Yash Dayal. The way he bowled was unbelievable. For a man who's fairly new, he deserves it. [on what he told Dayal before the last over] Pace off is the best option on this pitch and trust your skills and enjoy, this is what you trained for. The yorker did not work the 1st ball and he went back to pace off and it worked unbelievably well," he said at the post-match presentation.

Vatican To Hold Press Conference On "Supernatural Phenomena" Today

The Vatican will hold a press conference to announce the updated church doctrines on "supernatural phenomena" on Friday. A notice about the press conference has been posted on the website of Holy See Press Office, which led several outlets to incorrectly report that the announcement is about "aliens". Rather, the church officials will "present the new provisions of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith for discerning between apparitions and other supernatural phenomena", according to the notice.

An "apparition" refers to an instance where a divine entity, such as a saint, the Virgin Mary or Christ himself, appears before a person on Earth.

The press conference will be held by Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, Monsignor Armando Matteo and Sister Daniela Del Gaudio.

The announcement will be live-streamed on the YouTube channel of the Vatican.

A report published in Fox News last week, Fernandez had said that the dicastery is "in the process of finalising a new text with clear guidelines and norms for the discernment of apparitions and other phenomena".

As per established practice, apparitions are documented and scrutinised by the diocesan bishop's office and then forwarded to Rome for further investigation.

The announcement is gaining traction because the one like this has not been held since February 1978.

Fox News said the most well-documented apparition in the modern day is the Miracle of Fatima in 1917. After an alleged series of appearances by the Virgin Mary to several peasant children that promised a public miracle, tens of thousands of people in Fatima, Portugal, claimed to witness the sun move erratically across the sky and produce radiant colors for several minutes.

The Pope formally recognised the "supernatural" event in 1930 and formally approved it a decade later.

"It Is Unacceptable": Mahira Khan On Crowd Throwing Object At Her

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently attended the Pakistan Literature Festival in Quetta, where a member of the crowd threw an object on the stage where she was seated. The actress has reacted to the incident in her latest Instagram post. She shared a clip from the event and she captioned it, "What happened at the event was uncalled for. No one should think it's ok to throw something on stage, even if it's a flower wrapped up in a paper plane. It sets the wrong precedent. It is unacceptable. There are times I get scared, not just for myself, but for others who may be trapped in a mob like situation."

Mahira Khan shared her take on the event and she added in her extensive post, "But hear me out - While we were on our way back someone said ' after this we won't have an event here'. I disagreed completely. That is not the solution. Here was a crowd of 10,000 or more... who were showing their love and excitement - the way they know best. Because I could see them I could see they didn't know how to contain/express their excitement. Whoever the miscreant was, was 1 out of 10,000. Maybe I should have gotten up and left, maybe the crowd could have been screened, maybe I should not have been put on the spot...Lots of could haves and should haves."

The Humsafar actress added in her post, "What I do feel strongly about is that - we need more events such as these in More cities of Pakistan. The more you are exposed the more you are aware and educated. Normalise it. And see what happens. People, cities, our culture, our understanding of each other (which lacks), unity (which lacks even more)... It will all flourish! I met the most amazing people. We sat together under the beautiful Quetta sky, ate delicious food.. while we shared stories, laughed and made plans for my next visit. I come back enriched. I love you Quetta. Thank you for the insane amount of love. There shall and will be a next time.. and on every end we will be better. InshAllah."

See Mahira Khan's post here:

In the viral clip, looking at the object, Mahira Khan said, "Haww... Ye galat hogaya (this is wrong)." When Mahira Khan was asked to say a dialogue from her film by the host, Mahira replied, "Ab toh dialogue nahi banta na agar cheezein phek rahe hain aap log (I won't say any dialogue because you threw something. Now there is no room for a dialogue)." The video has been posted by several fan pages dedicated to the actress on X (earlier known as Twitter).

Check out the viral video here:

Mahira Khan is known for her performances in popular TV shows like Humsafar, Sadqay Tumhare and Shehr-e-Zaat. She made her debut in Pakistani films with Atif Aslam's Bol.
