Urvashi Rautela Trolled After Claim Of Rs 1 Crore Pay For Minute-Long Gig

Urvashi Rautela is no stranger to the unpleasant side of social media. The actress has often been subjected to merciless trolling for her statements and social media posts. Now, another video featuring Urvashi Rautela has gone viral on the Internet making her the subject of countless jokes and mean comments. It all started when a reporter asked Urvashi Rautela to share her thoughts on being the highest-paid actress in the country, charging one crore per minute. The reporter asks, “One minute, one crore rupees you are charging, what do you have to say.” Seemingly confirming the reporter's statement, Urvashi Rautela says, “It's a good thing; I think every self-made actor/actress jo hai, unko hai ki woh yeh din dekhe [ I think every self-made actor/actress aspires to see such a day].”

In response to the video shared by the portal, several users ridiculed the actress for her tall claims. One fan said, “Wait, who is paying her? Most importantly who is watching her, lol.” “Deepika, Alia left the chat,” said another. “Isliye ab isko koi movie me ni leta... Can't afford her,” another user wrote with a bunch of laughing emojis.

Mujhe bhi roj sapne aate hain crorepati wale [Even I dream that I am a crorepati every day],” one user said, while another predicted, “Ye viral meme banne wala hai [This is going to go viral].” “Ye kam kar kidr rahi h dikhayi kiu nhi dera [Where is the work she is talking about? Why can't we see it?]” Seconding this, another user wrote, “But where is she acting?”

Last year, at the Cannes Film Festival, Urvashi Rautela was trolled after she claimed in an interview that Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio complimented her. “I was so emotional and could feel happy tears in my eyes. At the same time, I was blushing too. He also appreciated me as a very talented actress. I was waking up pinching myself. Did that really happen last night? Was I dreaming about the sweet moment? I think it just shows how even the younger actors want to be out there and inspires young actors to keep going, that's my memory of meeting him…I was freaking out and falling short of words after receiving compliments from Leonardo DiCaprio," she said.

However, once again, the internet did not buy Urvashi Rautela's story. Needless to say, a meme fest followed. “I really admire Urvashi Rautela because she don't care that she lying. She just be lying,” one fan wrote about the actress' statement.

Urvashi Rautela has worked in films such as Sanam Teri Kasam, Singh Saab The Great and Pagalpanti, among others. She will be seen in Dil Hai Gray and Black Rose.

"It's Not Like I Don't Like This Person": Rohit Sharma On Squad Selection

Rohit Sharma understands the gargantuan pressure that a home World Cup brings but the Indian captain wants to insulate himself from the outside chatter as he embarks on an arduous journey to win the country's first ICC trophy in a decade. Shouldering more than a billion hopes, the 36-year-old India skipper knows what's at stake in the ODI World Cup, which starts October 5 with England taking on New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

"For me, it is important how I keep myself relaxed and not worry about external factors that play a role, whether positively or not negatively. I want to shut out everything," Rohit told PTI in an exclusive interview just before joining the Asia Cup camp in Benglauru.

"I want to get into the phase I was in before the 2019 World Cup,” said Rohit, who carries an aura of Zen even in the most tense of situations.

The same calm was visible as he put across his point of view in an uncomplicated manner during the interview, just like the straight face of his bat when he hits the bowler's back-drive.

"I was in great frame of mind and prepared really well for the tournament," he said referring to the last edition, where he scored 648 runs with an unprecedented five hundreds to emerge as the highest run-getter.

"I was in good shape, good mindset. I want to bring that back and I have time to do that. Trying to recollect what were the right things that I was doing before the 2019 World Cup as a cricketer and as a person. I want to revisit that thought-process of mine personally," the skipper said.

World Cups and the vagaries associated with the results can change a lot of things but for Rohit, one month of cricket can't make or break the player that he is.

"A person can't change overnight with his success or failures," he said.

"I don't think one result or one championship can change me as a person. I have not changed as a person in the last 16 years and I don't think anything needs to change on that front," he said.

"The focus will be on how I can achieve my goals in the next two months, for me and my team. A person can't change in a period of one or two months." Rohit has won five IPL titles as Mumbai Indians captain, Asia Cup as India captain (2018) and led the team to World Test Championship final as recently as June this year.

Do you ever think about your legacy in Indian cricket after being around for 16 years? "No," pat came the reply. "I am not the person who thinks about what kind of legacy I will leave behind. My legacy will be for people to judge and talk about. Not for me to say." He has 30 ODI hundreds, second only to Virat Kohli's 46. Add 10 Test hundreds and four T20I tons. A total of 17,000 plus international runs aren't bad numbers.

"I am not a firm believer in numbers. You should be happy and enjoy the time you have in-front of you, and try to live in that kind of moment. I am thinking about what gives me happiness," he added.

"For me, it's all about creating memories and creating a good rapport with my teammates. Be happy in whatever you get and whatever you have."

TEAM SELECTION HEARTBREAKS

Rohit will have an unenviable task of telling at least three out of 18 members of the core group that they won't be a part of World Cup's exclusive 15.

There is a sense of déjà vu. When he was 23, Rohit didn't get a look-in in that history-making 'Class of 2011'. It had hurt, back then and no one knows that better than him.

"While picking the best combination, there will be guys who will miss out for various reasons and Rahul bhai (Dravid) and I have tried our best to explain to the players why they are not in the squad." "We have tried to communicate with the players after every selection and playing XI that has been announced. We talk to them face to face, one-on-one why they have not been picked," he said.

"Sometimes, I try and put myself in their shoes. When I wasn't picked in 2011, it was such a heart-breaking moment for me and I felt what's left after being dropped from a World Cup squad?" He had no qualms in admitting that at times his and Dravid's decision can go wrong. "Me, coaches, and selectors, take into account all factors like opposition, surfaces, our strengths, their weaknesses, and then reach a common ground. There is every chance that we will not be perfect always.

"At the end of the day, few individuals make decisions, and we are bound to make mistakes as humans. We won't always be right," he added with a pause.

Rohit feels that he "needs to keep an open mind" and listen to everyone's view and what other people around him are thinking.

"It's not like, I don't like this person, so I am dropping him. Captaincy is not based on personal likes and dislikes. If anyone misses out, there is a reason for it. If you are the unlucky one, we can do nothing." So who was the one who put an arm around his shoulder after the 2011 World Cup team was announced? "I was sad and sitting in my room and didn't know what to do next. I remember Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) calling me to his room and taking me out for dinner.

"He explained to me how it feels when you are left out. He told me, 'the best thing is that you have so many years in-front of you. As we play in the World Cup, you take this chance to work hard on your game, skills and make a comeback. There is no way that you won't play for India or not get a chance to play in the World Cup'." Skipper MS Dhoni and selectors felt that an additional wrist spinner in Piyush Chawla would be more useful than an extra batter back in 2011.

"I went back to the drawing board, worked hard and immediately after the World Cup, I made a comeback and it has been good since then. Since this is me, who has gone through this emotion, no one can tell me that "easier said than done".

"I have faced exclusion in a World Cup, and I know how it exactly feels.”

Batter Rohit, the pull-shots and the risks taken

If there is one shot that has become 'signature Rohit' over the years, it is the pull-shot that he has played mostly with success, though at times it does bring about his downfall.

So how much does he practice the pull in the nets against throwdown experts? "There is no specific training I do to play that shot. Nobody knows about the work I did before that.

"Raghu (Raghvendra), Nuwan (Senaviratne) and Daya (Garani) have all come in recent years and I have been playing this shot for a long time, he said, referring to the three support staff members.

"I have worked on this shot since U-17 and U-19 days. Now I don't practice this shot specifically during the training. If I find a ball pitched short, I play the pull. The bowlers are not just going to bowl short, so during training I tell bowlers to bowl everything in a manner they want."

Box Office Report: Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 "Overtakes" KGF 2

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's film Gadar 2 is making waves at the box office by breaking major records. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently shared that the movie's earnings have surpassed the total collection of KGF 2. The next target for Gadar 2 is to cross the box office collection of Baahubali 2. Impressively, Gadar 2 had also already exceeded the earnings of Aamir Khan's Dangal. In its third week, Gardar 2 had achieved remarkable numbers making ₹7.10 crore on Friday and a substantial ₹13.75 crore on Saturday, accumulating a total of ₹439.95 crore rupees so far.

In his tweet, Taran Adarsh wrote, “CROSSES ‘KGF 2', NEXT ‘BAAHUBALI 2'… After crossing *lifetime biz* of #Dangal, #Gadar2 overtakes #KGF2 #Hindi… #Gadar2 is now THIRD HIGHEST GROSSING #Hindi film in #India… Continues to smash #BO records at mass sectors… [Week 3] Fri 7.10 cr, Sat 13.75 cr. Total: ₹ 439.95 cr. #India biz.”

Take a look at his tweet below:

Gadar 2 went up against Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi's OMG 2 at the box office. Both the movies made it to the big screens on August 11th. Despite the clear preference for Gadar 2 among the audience, OMG 2 managed a respectable collection. As per Taran Adarsh's tweet, the movie displayed “strong legs” in week 2 and collected ₹41.37 cr, with a total of ₹126.42 cr to date.

He wrote, “#OMG2 displays STRONG LEGS in Week 2… A substantial chunk of its biz has come from multiplexes of major centres… A creditable total, considering it faced the onslaught of a #Typhoon called #Gadar2… [Week 2] Fri 6.03 cr, Sat 10.53 cr, Sun 12.06 cr, Mon 3.70 cr, Tue 3.25 cr, Wed 3 cr, Thu 2.80 cr. Total: ₹ 126.42 cr. #India biz.”

Check out his tweet:

Meanwhile, Gadar 2  has earned mixed reviews from critics. NDTV's Saibal Chatterjee in his review said, "The strident and exhausting Gadar 2, set in the year of Bangladesh's war of liberation, sends intrepid truck driver Tara Singh back into Pakistan to rescue his son from the clutches of a villainous Pakistani general who is foresworn to wiping India off the face of the earth...Gadar 2 is strictly for three categories of people: Sunny Deol fans, those that miss the unbridled excesses of Bollywood of yore, and those that believe that "hate thy neighbour" is an axiom worth cheering for in a movie theatre. The film has enough to please them all - and then some."

Apart from Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur also play important roles in Gadar 2.

Chahal "Doesn't Deserve To Be In Team India": Ex-Pak Spinner's Sharp Take

Team India's squad for the Asia Cup 2023 was announced on Monday with skipper Rohit Sharma and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar revealing the 18-member squad. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was promoted as Rohit's deputy for the continental event while batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer made their way back into team after battling through their respective injuries. However, the exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal sparked a debate as many former cricketers lashed out at the selectors for ignoring the veteran leg-spinner.

The 18-member squad consists of Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav as the spinners. However, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria backed the selectors for going ahead with Kuldeep over Chahal and stated that the Rajasthan Royals spinner "doesn't deserve" to be in the team right now.

"Yuzvendra Chahal doesn't deserve to be in Team India right now. He has been very inconsistent. Kuldeep Yadav, on the other hand, has picked up wickets regularly and can be effective in the middle overs. The selectors took the right call by going with Kuldeep over Chahal," Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.

Earlier, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh came in support of Chahal and called him India's best spinner in white-ball cricket, adding that a few bad games don't make him a bad bowler.

"The one thing I feel is lacking in the team is the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal. A leg-spinner who can get the ball to turn away. If you talk about genuine spinner, I don't think there's any spinner in India better than Chahal in white-ball formats. Yes, his last few games weren't good, but that doesn't make him a bad bowler," Harbhajan had said on his YouTube channel.

"I think his presence in the team was necessary. I hope the doors aren't closed to him. It's important to consider him for the World Cup because the tournament is in India. Chahal is a proven match-winner. I can understand his form isn't good, so you may have rested him. But I think if he was with the team, his confidence would've stayed intact. Any player who comes back after being dropped, the pressure to perform is always there," he added.

"AI Can Be Source Of Jobs, Must Be In Human Control": Microsoft President

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, can be a source of growth - contrary to opinions it could cost millions their jobs - and will be as important to the future of knowledge as the invention of the printing press was, Microsoft President Brad Smith told NDTV on Wednesday as global business leaders met in Delhi ahead of the G20 Summit next month.

Mr Smith also spoke on the potential dangers of AI and the future of generative tools like ChatGPT, explaining they while they will certainly revolutionise the world they do also need a strong system of checks and balances to ensure AI "remains under human control".

"I think AI is a tool that can help people think smarter and find answers more quickly (but) we shouldn't stop thinking. AI can make us more productive and more successful, it can help us translate from one language to another... I think it can be a source of more growth and creation of jobs," the Microsoft boss told NDTV.

On the future of generative tools like ChatGPT - a language model-based chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November last year - Mr Smith said, "... the future of what we call generative AI is, in some ways, just getting started. It can make doctors more effective at diagnosing diseases and help find new drugs to cure diseases."

"It can be used as tutors for students and for parents to work with their children... more than anything else, I think AI is will be as important to the future of knowledge as the printing press was when it was invented (nearly 600 years ago)."

The goal, also, the Microsoft leader stressed, is to ensure AI does not ever pose a danger.

"We must ensure AI always remains under human control and the best time to put in place safety checks and systems to guard (against dangers of AI) is now. We need companies to develop AI in a responsible manner... the focus must be on new laws and regulations, and this has to be an international effort, yes, and within each country too," he said.

India, Mr Smith, said will play a critical role in this regard.

"AI is not magic... it is not an independent source of knowledge and it not sentient. It is math. I think there may be a distant future when that is different but that too is a reason to focus on the 'now' and ensure this technology serves humanity and remains under human control."

Mr Smith also spoke to NDTV on remarkable strides taken by India in digitalisation at various levels and in various sectors, including the now-ubiquitous digital payments systems.

"I think there is no country, that I have seen, that has advanced so far and so quickly (as India), especially since this decade began. And from our perspective at Microsoft, what we see is not only what digital systems are doing for public infrastructure in India but what it can do for the world," he explained, "And it can do even more now that we are bringing AI to it."

The Microsoft President concluded by stressing on the importance of India to his company, explaining, it means a "huge amount" as it remains a source of top engineering talent, great innovations and products.

How Two 20-Year-Olds Beat Grim Market To Mint The Newest Unicorn In India

Zepto, an instant grocery startup founded by a duo of Stanford University dropouts, both 20, raised fresh funds at a $1.4 billion valuation, creating a rare Indian unicorn amid a gloomy venture funding climate.

StepStone Group, Goodwater Capital and others invested a combined $200 million in the Mumbai-based company, it said Friday in a statement. Zepto, built with backing from startup incubator Y Combinator, said it's on track to turn profitable within 15 months and intends to go public in two to three years.

Childhood friends Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra dropped out of Stanford's computer science program to return to India and build the startup when they were teenagers. They are now the youngest founders of any Indian unicorn.

"Quick commerce is India's fastest-growing consumer internet category, scaling far more rapidly than segments like ride-hailing and food delivery," Palicha said over video conference. "We are India's fastest-growing consumer internet company and will be Ebitda-positive within 15 months."

The Series E round comes at a challenging time for the quick commerce segment globally, with startups like Gopuff in the US and Getir in Europe cutting jobs. Zepto itself faces stiffening competition from rivals in India, including Alphabet Inc.-backed Dunzo, Zomato Ltd.'s Blinkit and Naspers Ltd.-backed Instamart.

Startup momentum is sputtering worldwide. Venture funding declined by about 72% in the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2022, according to data from Tracxn Technologies Ltd. No new unicorns were created in the country the first half, compared with 19 unicorns minted in the year-earlier period, according to Tracxn.

Zepto was founded in July 2021 and now has more than 220 so-called dark stores, or neighborhood warehouses, across cities including Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi, with plans for expansion. Its early backers include Nexus Venture Partners and Lachy Groom.

India's $1 trillion retail market has attracted global players like Amazon.com Inc. and Walmart Inc.-owned Flipkart Online Services Pvt, yet online sales still account for a minuscule share of that total. Zepto's sales in March grew about 300% from a year earlier, and its annual revenue has topped $600 million, Palicha said. Median delivery time is 12 minutes, and Zepto stores stock over 7,000 products, he said.

"There's a lot of skepticism around quick commerce," Palicha said. "If we execute well, we are in a position to build an Amazon.com-type business."

Bengal Vande Bharat Coaches Replaced After Tech Glitch, Passengers Protest

A technical glitch in the rake of the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express on Friday morning forced the railways to replace it with the one used in operating Yuva Express, causing a delay of one hour, an official said.

A section of passengers also protested the change, which dashed their hopes of travelling in the swanky Vande Bharat rake that has modern amenities. They said the Yuva Express rake did not have the amenities they paid for, and was not up to the mark.

Owing to a glitch in the undergear of the Vande Bharat rake, it had to be replaced, a senior official of the Eastern Railway said.

"The Vande Bharat rake was not found to be fit for running and was replaced by a spare rake, which is used for Yuva Express," he said.

This change caused a delay in the departure of the train by one hour, he said.

Among the passengers on the train was Governor CV Ananda Bose who was travelling to Malda to meet the families of the migrant workers killed in the Mizoram rail bridge collapse.

Stating that such a technical snag is not expected in the premier Vande Bharat Express rake, BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar said he will speak to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw who is scheduled to visit Kolkata on Friday.

"I will bring the matter to the notice of the railway minister," said Majumdar, the state BJP president.

Review: Ayushmann Khurrana Does What He Can To Salvage Dream Girl 2

A laughably vacuous script isn't the only undoing of Dream Girl 2. The comedy caper opens with a jagrata sequence capped by a song and dance performed by lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Taking a cue from him, the rest of the cast treats the film like an all-nighter without a morrow and ham their way through an utterly unfunny concoction.

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, who helmed the 2019 precursor, Dream Girl 2 has the likes of Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa, actors who are usually totally reliable, but the heavy lifting is left entirely to Khurrana. He does what he can to salvage a stale storyline that is as hollow as a drum.

It isn't until a pre-climactic sequence, which allows Khurrana's character to launch into a self-righteous tirade against everyone within earshot, that the actor comes into his own. The series of supposedly comic scenes that precede it is, however, a totally wasted tickle fight - it does not yield the expected laugh riot.

In one stray scene, the hero who spends most of the film in the guise of a married woman he says to a character enamoured with 'her': aise mat ro, mujhe hansi aa jayegi (don't cry, I'll break into laughter). The comedy has the reverse effect: it reduces the audience either to tears or lulls them into the sort of impassivity that lasts the entire duration of the film.

Mathura resident Karam Singh (Khurrana), a jobless gender-shifting jagrata performer, is in love with budding lawyer Pari Shrivastava (Ananya Panday). But since his father, Jagjeet Singh (Annu Kapoor), is buried under a mountain of debt and their ancestral home is a crumbling mess, the girl's dad (Manoj Joshi) lays down conditions for the suitor.

Find a job, renovate your home and build up a substantial bank balance and only then ask for my daughter's hand, the money-minded patriarch says. Karam, egged on by his best pal Smiley (Manjot Singh), takes a shot at being a bar dancer at a nightclub owned by Saajan "Sona Bhai" Tiwari (Vijay Raaz). The money is good but is it good enough?

Smiley loves Sakina (Anusha Mishra). It is now this girl's dad Abu Saleem's (Paresh Rawal) turn to put his foot down and make a demand of his own. Get my son, Mohammed Shahrukh (Abhishek Banerjee), out of the deep funk that he has sunk into since his break-up with his girlfriend, he says to the ever-jovial Smiley, before you wed Sakina. Karam, impersonating Pooja, re-enters the scene pretending to be a shrink to help his friend out.

The comedy of errors and messy cross-connections between members of Abu Saleem's messed-up family and Karam's cash-strapped dad and supportive friend is marred by the writing (by the director and Naresh Kathooria). It never rises above the pedestrian. One does laugh at what is going on but for all the wrong reasons.

Some of the jokes that the characters crack ride on Sunny Deol/Gadar and Shahrukh Khan/Pathaan. They fall flat. But they are inoffensive, if not passable, but what isn't acceptable at all is that Dream Girl 2 pokes fun at sexual orientation, gender fluidity, adoption and even depression (and the psychiatrist's profession) in its quest for lowbrow comicality.

Although the hero of Dream Girl 2 masquerades as a woman so that he can make the money he needs to marry the girl he loves, the film has only two women. One is the hero's girlfriend who breathes hot and cold as the male protagonist switches genders at the snap of a finger, frequently inviting trouble in the process. The other is a much-married older woman, Jumani (Seema Pahwa), who is in the middle of a messy divorce and desperately seeking a fourth hubby if that means jumping into a bigger muddle.

All the other women who should logically have been around or, at the very least, been accounted for are non-existent. Karam's father is a widower and so is Sakina's dad. And there is nary a mention of Pari's mother. So, it is safe to presume that her dad, too, does not have a wife anymore. Wonder what the logic might be.

The audience might want look for a clue in a line that Karam/Pooja delivers in order to enlighten a bemused Smiley: Tujhe pata nahi kitna mushkil hota hai ladki banna (You have no idea how difficult it is to become a woman). He does not stop there. He ends the thought with Ussey bhi mushkil hota hota hai ladki hona (It is even mor difficult to be a woman). That is all the wokeness that Dream Girl 2 can muster.

By far the funniest of the characters in this uninspired comedy is a bank employee named Tiger Pandey (Ranjan Raj), who falls in love with Pooja's voice on the phone (a la the lovers he/she had in 2019's Dream Girl) and looks for her all across Agra and Mathura.

Unfortunately, he is the most dispensable of all the men hovering over Pooja. He appears only to be ridiculed left and right and then disappears only to reappear and be treated like a punching bag.

The hero of  Dream Girl 2 has to make frequent visits to the toilet to get his oranges in place as he repeatedly transitions between genders. If only the makers, out to cash in on the success of 2019's Dream Girl, knew their onions better, the meagre amount of juice that they extract from an idea that has been wrung thin would have been tangier, if nothing else.

To the credit of Ayushmann Khurrana, he never gives the impression that he is on a sinking ship. He does not hold back one bit even when the writing lets him down. Manjot Singh, when the script permits, soldiers on gamely and lends the lead actor some support.

But when an array of seasoned actors with enviable track records are reduced to merely going through the motions, you know you are watching a film that does not know where it is headed. We the audience figure out pretty quickly: this one is going nowhere.

After Chandrayaan-3 Success, Old Video Of ISRO Chief Partying Goes Viral

After Chandrayaan-3 scripted history by making India the first nation to land on the Moon's south pole region, an old video of ISRO chief S Somanath has resurfaced on the internet. In the clip, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation is seen dancing with his colleagues. Given that the clip was shared by a Twitter user on Wednesday night, the internet believed that it was possibly recorded during a Chandrayaan-3's post-landing party. The video in question was shared with the text, “Chief Dr S. Somanath & team ISRO”

The comments section of the post is flooded with users praising ISRO for the success of its lunar mission. Several users claimed that after the accomplishment of such a big mission, the scientists behind it deserved a party.

A comment read, “I was literally thinking, post-touchdown at the moon when the party will be thrown for Team Chandrayaan. Either on Wednesday or Thursday. Here is the answer. Thanks for the proud moment.”

Another user wrote, “Proud moment India party to Banta hai.”

Chandrayaan-3 was launched on July 14 and it touched the lunar surface on August 23, overcoming several odds. This was India's third lunar mission after Chandrayaan-2 was listed as a partial failure.

In a conversation with NDTV, the ISRO chief revealed that due to Chandrayaan-2's hard landing no information from the Moon's surface was recovered and because of this they had to start fresh. Continuing further he also elaborated on the workings of Chandrayaan-3.

S Somanath said, “Everything had to be done fresh for this mission. From Chandrayaan-2, we could not recover anything from the moon. The first year was spent figuring out what went wrong with Chandrayaan-2, the next year we revised everything. The last 2 years we conducted tests.”

Despite work schedules being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, ISRO was “still launching some rockets”, S Somnath said. Explaining why they chose the south pole region of the Moon, the ISRO chairman said, “But there are a huge amount of scientific possibilities on the south pole. They are related to the presence of water and minerals on the moon.”

For the next 14 days, the rover will carry out several experiments on the surface of the moon.

PM Modi's Pakistani Sister To Visit Delhi To Tie Him 'Rakhi'

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pakistani sister Qamar Mohsin Sheikh is all set to visit New Delhi to tie a 'rakhi' to him. Mrs. Shaikh, a Pakistan-origin woman who moved to Ahmedabad after her marriage, has been tying a rakhi to PM Modi for over 30 years.

Due to the pandemic, she was unable to visit the Prime Minister for the last couple of years but continued the tradition by sending him homemade 'rakhis' by post. Last year too, she sent the sacred thread to PM Modi and wished him for the 2024 general election. This year, she is hopeful of meeting the PM in person and celebrating the festival together. She also plans to gift him a book on agriculture, considering his fondness for reading.

"This time I have made the 'Rakhi' myself. I will also gift him (PM Modi) a book on agriculture as he is fond of reading. For the last 2-3 years, I was unable to go due to Covid, but this time I will meet him in person," she told news agency ANI.

''I pray for him every day for his good health and long life. I believe that all my wishes come true. Earlier when I prayed for him to be the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he became," she further said.

“Whenever I tied the Rakhi, I used to express my desire for him to become the Prime Minister. His response was always affirmative, saying that all your wishes will be fulfilled by God. He is doing commendable work for the country," she added.

Mrs. Shaikh had earlier said her first Raksha Bandhan with PM Modi was when he was an RSS worker.

Raksha Bandhan marks the bond of love between siblings and will be celebrated on August 30 this year. Sisters tie a rakhi on their brothers' wrists and pray for their prosperity and longevity. In return, the brothers pledge to protect and support the sisters.

India's Asia Cup 2023 Squad: Bumrah, Tilak, Rahul - Big Names In Fray

Indian cricket team's Asia Cup 2023 squad is most likely to be announced on Monday. Several reports have claimed that the BCCI selectors will meet Team India captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid to decide on the final squad for the Asia Cup, which begins on August 30. India's first match is against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup squad holds extra importance as it will more or less give an idea about what the squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 will look like.

This is the team management's final chance to test out all options. We take a look at the probable names that might get selected for the Asia Cup 2023. A 17-member squad is likely to be selected as Asia Cup has that provision.

Rohit Sharma (captain) - He is an automatic choice. India's regular captain and prolific opener, Sharma has scored 632 runs in 17 ODIs since the start of 2022 at an average of 45.14.

Shubman Gill - Another automatic choice. The last one year has seen him reach great heights. Since January 2022, he scored 1388 runs in 24 ODIS at an astounding average 69.40.

Virat Kohli - He is probably the most automatic choice. A modern day great Kohli is a big tournament player.

Tilak Varma - Is he India's surprise answer to No. conundrum? In a team full of right-handers he provides a different dimension. His debut T20I series against West Indies was promising to say the least.

KL Rahul (wk) - Here comes the tricky part. Had he been fully fit, he would have been an automatic choice. But a thigh injury has prevented him to take the field since may. According to reports, he has recovered and taken part in match simulations. He has started wicketkeeping too in practice sessions. Selectors might punt on him, as he can keep wickets too.

Ishan Kishan (wk) - He can keep wickets, can open, has played in middle-order and is a left-hander. In Rishabh Pant's absence , there is little chance for him to be ignored.

Shreyas Iyer - Yet another case of injury creating a doubt over his selection. A lower back injury has hindered him for long but like Rahul he has started batting in practice too. Selectors might want to give him a chance to prove his fitness. He is a solid choice for No. 4, provided he is fit and in-form.

Suryakumar Yadav - His ODI form has been pathetic. Yet, his ability in the middle-overs is hard to be ignored.

Hardik Pandya - India's best fast bowling allrounder, Pandya is not only crucial with his game but with his leadership qualities too. India need him to perform the role of finisher.

Ravindra Jadeja - Pandya and Jadeja are India's best allrounders currently. No limited overs team can be though without this duo. Jadeja spin abilities on sub-continent tracks is a big plus

Jasprit Bumrah - That he has started bowling in matches against Ireland is clear enough indication that selectors will back him to be part of Asia Cup and World Cup. He hasn't looked rusty after 11 months' absence due to injury.

Mohammed Shami - His seam bowling abilities can never be ignored. Crucial for India in the early overs.

Mohammed Siraj - Probably the most-improved Indian pace bowler in the last two years. Clearly among top three best Indian pacers currently.

Shardul Thakur - Another fast bowling allrounder, he may very well pip the big names to the XI due to his ability in the lower-order batting and his uncanny ability get breakthroughs.

Kuldeep Yadav - The Chinaman bowler showed his guile and ability to provide breakthorughs in West Indies. In spin friendly condition, he is a gem.

Axar Patel - Has abilities like Ravindra Jadeja. Despite that he has got the nod for limited overs formats ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin , an off-spinner. Despite possessing different skills, Axar might be preferred over Ashwin it seems, this time too.

Yuzvendra Chahal - He did not get a chance in the West Indies ODIs but performed in the T20Is. He provides variety.

"Messi English Na Boley..." Pak Cricketer Gives Befitting Reply To Troll

Cricket is a team game where all the eleven players work as a single unit to put up a strong performance in the match. Players sometimes even carry this unity off the field and share a loving bond among each other. A brilliant example of unity was seen between Pakistan stars Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali, when a fan tried to mock the latter on Twitter and the all-rounder came in support of his compatriot. The 24-year-old Shadab not only defended his teammate but also gave a befitting reply to the troll.

It all started with Shadab posting some pictures in a dapper look on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, whose caption read, "Modelling skills better? Learning from my teammates."

Commenting on the post, Hasan praised Shadab in a hilarious way and wrote, "Mai sadqy jaon wari jaon apny yaar pa, Maa Sha Allah nazar na lag jaye.

As soon as Hasan's comment went viral, a fan tagged the Pakistan Cricket Board and wrote, "For God's Sake @RealHa55an, You are an international cricketer...!! @TheRealPCBMedia @Rehan_ulhaq @TheRealPCB at least educate them how to use social media platforms."

Seeing this, Shadab came in support of Hasan and called the fan a hypocrite for not judging players like Lionel Messi, who also cannot speak proper English.

"Messi english na bolay theek. Foreign players english mai aesi baat ker de theek. Laikin hmy chahe ke ham natural na rahe. Hum fake personality bna le. Bhai mujhe to apne culture ya mazak mai koi sharam nahi. Allah sab ko khush rakhay aur dosre ki khushi mai bhi khush rakhay (It's ok if Messi doesn't speak English. It's fine if foreign players say the same in English. However, we should avoid being natural [ourselves]. We should develop a fake personality. I don't feel any shame in my culture or poking fun in it)," wrote Shadab.

Talking about Shadab, the Pakistan vice-captain recently featured in The Hundred competition for Birmingham Phoenix. He will now be back in action in the upcoming Asia Cup, where Pakistan will take on Nepal in the opening match on August 30.

The arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be squaring off against each other on September 2 in Kandy.

Pakistan Influencer's Sassy Reply to Troll Who Asked Her to Wash Dishes

For content creators and influencers, dealing with online trolls can be never-ending. Influencers who choose to showcase their lives to the public often end up becoming targets of vile attacks, abuses, and unnecessary scrutiny. While some creators ignore such trolls and do not give them any attention, some influencers believe in hitting back, and rightly so. Recently, a Pakistani influencer faced a degrading comment associated with traditional gender roles, and she decided to give a befitting answer.

In an Instagram ‘Ask Me Anything', Kashaf Ali was asked by a troll to go and wash the dishes. ''Bartan dho jaker,'' read the comment.

Watch her response here:

Taking an unexpected approach, Ms. Ali took her phone into the kitchen and filmed herself washing the dishes, during the live session. Once she was done with the chore, she questioned why cleaning dishes is used as a derogatory phrase for women.

“Dho diye maine bartan. Isse kya as a person main choti pad gayi ya mai badi ban gayi? Ya, Kya ho gaya? Kuch nahi. Sahi hai. Ek kaam tha, maine kar liya. Isko as a derogatory term aap kyu istemaal karte ho for a woman? Ki ‘go to the kitchen, do the dishes.' Bro ye kya hai? (I washed the dishes. Does this make me small or does it make me a bigger person? Or what happened? Nothing. It's fine. It was a task, I did it. Why do you use this as a derogatory term for a woman?)”

She added, “Thodi akal istemaal karo yaar. Ab baar baar bartan kaun khareed sakta hai har khane ke liye? Dhoge hi na yaar? Ajeeb, har cheez main tum logo ko main samjhaun? (Use some common sense. Who can afford to buy dishes for every meal? You will have to wash them only, Strange, do I have to explain everything to you?)”

Internet users loved her response and praised her for turning a negative comment into a teachable moment. Many also thanked her for sparking a conversation around gender equality.

One user wrote, ''manners, the way she talks, and no frustration. no ugly screeching sounds, just plain opinion. it's inherent in their nature. so peaceful and charming.''

Another commented, ''She is so clear for this. I mean men here write go to kitchen as if it's a slur. Fella you don't go doesn't mean others don't go as well.''

A third said, ''My kind of response.'' ''A very nice reply to the troll, appreciate it, keep it up,'' a fourth added.

Sunny Deol Has 300 Crore Reasons To Smile, Celebrates Gadar 2 Success

Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 has joined the Rs 300 crore club and the actor decided to celebrate the film's success with a special Instagram post. On Saturday, the actor shared shared a happy picture of himself with the film's poster and he accompanied it with a caption that read, "They say love can't be measured but I feel so much love coming from all of you each day, everyday. Gadar 2 and Tara Singh are forever indebted. #HindustanZindabad." In the comments section of his post, brother Bobby Deol dropped heart emojis.

This is what Sunny Deol posted:

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol's dad and veteran actor Dharmendra also celebrated the film's success and he shared this picture on his X profile and wrote, "Always....Always need your love and good wishes. Friends, love you for your thundering applause."

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2  is the sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar. In the sequel Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma have reprised their roles of Tara Singh, Sakeena and Jeete, respectively. The film released in theatres last week. It clashed with Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 at the box office.

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review of NDTV, gave the film 2 stars out of 5 and he wrote, "Gadar 2 is strictly for three categories of people: Sunny Deol fans, those that miss the unbridled excesses of Bollywood of yore, and those that believe that "hate thy neighbour" is an axiom worth cheering for in a movie theatre. The film has enough to please them all - and then some."
