Adani Enterprises' FPO Sees Demand Of 1.25 Times Total Issue Size: Sources

The portion of Adani Enterprises Ltd's follow-on share sale for qualified institutional buyers and non-institutional investors has been "fully subscribed", people with direct knowledge of the matter have said.

The demand for Adani Enterprises' follow-on offering, or FPO, of Rs 20,000 crore on its last day is over 1.25 times of the total issue size, people familiar with the matter said. The share sale needs at least 90 per cent subscription to go through.

FPOs are done by already listed companies to diversify their equity shareholding.

The issue was subscribed 3 per cent yesterday. The anchor portion that makes 30 per cent of the FPO closed last week with funds from investors like Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

Abu Dhabi conglomerate International Holding Company will also invest $400 million in the issue.

Adani group firms have lost over $65 billion in stock market value since Hindenburg Research's January 24 report flagged concerns about the group's high debt levels and its suspected improper use of tax havens. Adani has called the report baseless.

Out of the Rs 20,000 crore proceeds from the FPO, Rs 10,869 crore will be used for green hydrogen projects, work at existing airports and construction of a green field expressway.

At least Rs 4,165 crore will be used to repay debt taken by its airports, road and solar project subsidiaries.

Severed Head Of Suicide Bomber Found At Pakistan Mosque Blast Site: Cops

Rescue officials on Tuesday recovered the severed head of the suspected suicide bomber who they believe blew himself up inside a mosque packed with worshippers during the afternoon prayers on Monday in the high-security zone in Pakistan's restive northwestern Peshawar city.

The death count from the bomb blast rose to 93, with 221 people severely wounded, police officials said, even as rescue operations continued to retrieve the remaining bodies from the debris.

The powerful blast occurred inside the mosque in the Police Lines area around 1.40 pm when worshippers, which included personnel of the police, army and bomb disposal squad -- were offering the Zuhr (afternoon) prayers.

The suicide bomber who was present in the front row blew himself up, causing the roof to collapse on the worshippers, officials said.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Mohammad Aijaz Khan told Geo TV that the blast appeared to be a suicide attack and the head of the suspected bomber was recovered at the site in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

"It is possible that the attacker was already present in the Police Lines before the blast and that he may have used an official vehicle [to enter]," he was quoted as saying by Geo TV.

Khan added the exact nature of the blast will be known once the rescue operation concludes.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan on Tuesday announced a day of mourning in the province following the attack.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the suicide attack, saying it was part of a revenge attack for TTP commander Umar Khalid Khurasani who was killed in Afghanistan in August last.

A police official said that a portion of the mosque collapsed and several people were believed to be under it.

The TTP, set up as an umbrella group of several terror outfits in 2007, called off a ceasefire with the federal government and ordered its terrorists to stage attacks across the country.

The group, which is believed to be close to al-Qaeda, has been blamed for several deadly attacks across Pakistan, including an attack on army headquarters in 2009, assaults on military bases, and the 2008 bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.

In 2014, the Pakistani Taliban attacked the Army Public School (APS) in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing at least 150 people, including 131 students.

The attack has sent shockwaves across the world and was widely condemned.

Box Office Report: Pathaan Set To Be Fastest Hindi Film To Make 300 Crore

The records continue to accumulate for Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan's new release and a smash hit at the box office. Ticket sales in India total Rs 296.50 crore in six days, reported trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Pathaan passes the Monday test with a respectable Rs 25.50 crore and heads towards a new record on Day 7, which is today. This means that once Day 7's collections are reported tomorrow, Pathaan will have crossed the Rs 300 crore benchmark faster than the Hindi dubs of Baahubali: The Conclusion and KGF: Chapter 2, the previous record holders in the Hindi film industry. Pathaan will have made Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office in a week, quicker than Baahubali: The Conclusion's 10 days and KGF: Chapter 2's 11 (the Hindi dubs of these films).

"Pathaan stands tall on the crucial Monday (Day 6). National chains super-strong, mass circuits rocking. Will be SRK's first film to hit Rs 300 crore on Tuesday (Day 7). Wednesday 55 crore, Thursday 68 crore, Friday 38 crore, Saturday 51.50 crore, Sunday 58.50 crore, Monday 25.50 crore. Total: Rs 296.50 crore. India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

The Tamil and Telugu dubs of Pathaan have so far brought in Rs 10.75 crore, adding Rs 1 crore on Monday to the previous five days' earnings.

See Taran Adarsh's tweets:

The film will become the "fastest to enter Rs 300 club," Taran Adarsh tweeted with a list of the previous quickest triple centuries. Pathaan, Baahubali: The Conclusion and KGF: Chapter 2 are followed by Dangal, Sanju, Tiger Zinda Hai, PK, War, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.

The film's worldwide gross was over Rs 540 crore as of yesterday.

Pathaan has already broken several records – it is Bollywood's biggest opener and fetched the fastest Rs 200 and Rs 250 crore. It is also the only Hindi film to earn close to Rs 70 crore in a single day.

Pathaan stars Shah Rukh Khan in the title role of a RAW agent who teams up with Deepika Padukone's character on an anti-terror mission against rogue agent Jim, played by John Abraham. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan released on January 25.

"Bhai Ashram Hai Ye" - Kohli Politely Asks Fans To Not Film Video

Not a part of India's T20I series against New Zealand, Virat Kohli's next assignment is the big Border-Gavaskar Trophy which is to begin on February 09. The star India batter, along with his wife Anushka Sharma, has been travelling during this period of break. Before the training sessions for the Test assignment against Australia begin, Virat was spotted in a spiritual place in Uttarakhand, along with his wife Anushka. The pictures and videos of the couple's visit have flooded the internet.

As per claims made by fans on social media, the couple visited the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj's samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh. Considering the popularity that Kohli has, the cricketer was surrounded by fans and asked to sign a few autographs. In a video that has been shared on Twitter, Virat could be seen signing a cricket ball. Here's the video:

Earlier, several photos surfaced online in which the two were seen offering prayers at an ashram in Vrindavan.

Anushka and Virat were in Dubai for the New Year's before their Vrindavan trip. Only a few days remain before Kohli would return to the cricket field, resuming his on-field responsibilities.

Kohli has been in fine touch over the past few weeks, scoring ODI 3 centuries (one against Bangladesh and two against Sri Lanka). In the 50-over assignment against New Zealand, however, the talismanic batter could only score a total of 55 runs in three matches.

Having broken his century drought in ODIs and T20Is, Kohli would now be determined to reach the triple-digit score in Tests too as India take on Australia in a 4-match series.

Review: Moha Presents A Contrast Between Beauty And Bloodshed

Cast: Jaaved Jaaferi, Shaylea K

Director: Santosh Sivan

Rating: 4 stars (out of 5)

Moha premiered on Sunday at the ongoing 52nd International Film Festival of Rotterdam.

A contemplative, if occasionally ponderous, fable set in an indeterminate era - "once upon a time and many times before and after" - and in a land with no name, Moha, produced, directed and co-written by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan, evokes the origins of the pictorial arts and employs the camera like an elemental paintbrush to create a hypnotic, fluid, pristine aesthetic. It structures a solid framework for a story anchored in myth and delivered without the trappings of popular Indian cinema.

Moha, Sivan's first Hindi-language directorial since 2008's Tahaan, does away with dialogue altogether with the purpose of evoking a natural, perhaps even primeval, ambience. The images - pure, powerful and set free from the limiting effect of words - frequently leap out of the screen. A narration written by Himanshu Singh and delivered in the voice of Jaaved Jaaferi runs through the film and serves to explain the context of the events that unfold and the ideas that flow into and out of them.

Jaaferi also plays one of two key roles - that of a hermit who grapples with the might of a sword that he chances upon and the allure of a beautiful young girl he has rescued and nursed back to health. The film examines in a wistful and whimsical manner the ramifications of power and violence on one hand and the workings of love and desire on the other.

Sivan has another Hindi film (Mumbaikar) in the works. But Moha, notwithstanding the language on the soundtrack, is anything but a classifiable film, be it in terms of genre or provenance. It marks a departure from the usual for the maker of Halo and Asoka. It plunges into the depth of the art and craft of moviemaking and attempts an unbridled tapping of the profound potential of poetry to enrich cinematic compositions.

Given the kind of experiment that Moha is, a runtime of 102 minutes might seem 10 or 20 minutes too long, but the magical quality of the unblemished image-making that drives the film ensures that the experience is both intriguing and spell-binding and certainly not in a merely superficial way.

Every frame that Sivan conjures up resembles a work of art that can be put up on a museum wall for display. That these images also move and breathe and glide like a stream in full flow only add to their appeal. Moha isn't designed for conventional entertainment but the gratification that it offers is both instantly sensual and deeply lyrical.

The film presents a contrast between beauty and bloodshed, oftentimes offering glimpses of how the two opposing sides of humanity can startlingly coalesce. The exquisite and lush visuals carry their own weight all right, but the moral thrust of Moha is not overwhelmed by the gloss and perfection of the canvas.

Moha opens with nearly eight minutes of uninterrupted images interspersed with the view of a man dancing in the middle of a river and a verdant landscape. Conjuring up intimacy and distance in one sweep, the vastness of the frame and the centrality of the choreographed human silhouette at its heart sum of what the visual prelude intends to achieve. It sets the tone for the film's free and fanciful approach to an overarching meditation on the nature of power, beauty and mankind's constant search for peace.

The two principal characters in Moha, which premiered on Sunday at the 52nd International Film Festival of Rotterdam, are recognisable archetypes and have no names. One is emblematic of renunciation and detachment; the other denotes both purity and temptation.

The conflict between the two and the constant negotiation that takes place around it without a word being uttered and only through actions, gestures and facial expressions are central to the film. But the focal point of the story is a sword, a symbol of Shakti, an attribute that can rob a child of his innocence, an adult of his sense of justice.

The sword, as the narrator reveals, is brought to the once-serene forest by a King from a land afar. He is running away from a shocking crime that he has perpetrated on his family. He is full of repentance. The hermit tries to liberate the fleeing royal from the curse of the weapon that has led him astray.

The ascetic believes that he can get rid of the sword and save the forest from falling into a cycle of unending violence. He, however, soon realises that bloodstains are here to stay because they are Shakti's permanent adornment and that there is no way escaping the might of the sword.

This story, which the narrator describes as one that was "hidden in the earth's womb by the forest", has another equally significant strand represented by a lost princess (Shaylee Krishen) who unlocks a part of the yogi's character that like the tale of the arrival of Shakti, lies buried in being.

Moha conducts a philosophical exploration of violence jealousy and obsession through the means of the battles that rage within the hermit, especially the one that is fanned when a man from the girl's troubled past returns and seeks to reconnect with her. The yogi's ascetism is severely tested - as is the future of the forest that he dwells in.

For Jaaved Jaaferi, best known for his comic roles, is thrown into a deep end where he has no words to fall back on. Using mime and movement to convey emotions and thoughts, the actor, like the yogi he embodies on the screen, is put to the test. He comes out with flying colours. The less seasoned Shaylee Krishen is cast as an epitome of beauty. Mercifully, it is more than skin deep.

Filmed in the Chalakudy forests of Kerala on a shoestring budget, Moha is a visually sumptuous treat in which the sounds of nature and Vipin Kumar PK's background score are fused in perfect harmony. All of it is, of course, heightened by Sivan's unmatched cinematographic skills, for which alone this film should be essential viewing.

"Either Sex Sells Or Shah Rukh Khan": Neha Dhupia Recalls Old Statement

Actor Neha Dhupia, who has been constantly giving shout outs to Shah Rukh Khan and his latest release Pathaan did it once again. A Twitter user recently wrote: "Almost 2 decade back Neha Dhupia had given a statement 'only sex or Shah Rukh Khan sells' and that stays true even today! #Pathaan #Pathaan100crWorldwide #PathaanRoars." Responding to the tweet, the actress wrote: "20 years on, my statement rings true. This is not an "actor's career" but a "King's reign"! #KingKhan." Back in 2004, during the promotions of her film Julie, Neha Dhupia had said, "In today's time, either sex sells or Shah Rukh Khan."

Read Neha Dhupia's tweet here:

After watching Pathaan in theatres, Neha Dhupia wrote this in a tweet last week: "It was a packed house, there were whistles, there was cheer and our hearts rejoiced...We laughed on beat, we applauded on every dialogue and we jumped out of our seats on cue each time Pathaan kicked. Shah Rukh Khan, thank you for you...This is what cinematic victory looks like."

She added in the tweet: "Shah Rukh Khan, the love we have for you is hard to explain. Deepika Padukone, you set the screen on fire with your gaze and your kicks and tricks. John Abraham, you make bad look so good! Salman Khan, we would go back to the cinemas to watch the best cameo in history. Pathaan is here to stay."

In terms of box office, Pathaan has earned Rs 542 crore crore gross worldwide within 5 days of its release. Box office success aside, the film has been equally adept at impressing the critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 3.5 stars out of 5 and he wrote: "Phenomenally entertaining and consistently engaging, Pathaan, for all the derivative genre components it compiles, is a spy thriller that crackles with energy."

Google Employee Laid Off While On Leave Caring For Sick Mother

Tech giant Google announced 12,000 job cuts globally this month. The recent layoffs have greatly impacted employees, prompting them to express their grief and share their stories about their time at the tech giant. Impacted by the job cuts, Paul Baker, who worked at Google as Video Production Manager, revealed he was fired while he was on carer's leave.

In a LinkedIn post, the former Google employee revealed that he had taken a month's leave to take care of his ailing mother, who was suffering from terminal cancer, according to an Insider report attached to his post. During his leave, he was informed by a friend about the layoffs. He then found his work laptop had been "cut off," following which he switched on his personal laptop to discover an email from the company saying he was being let go, as per the report.

According to his bio, Mr Baker joined Google in late 2018 and worked at the company's office in Venice, Los Angeles, as a video production manager.

Sharing his experience, Mr Baker wrote in the LinkedIn post, ''With the advent of 12k Google employee lay-offs on Friday and reading numerous hard-breaking/inspiring stories, I'm ready to share my story. While on carer's leave for my immediate family member's terminal cancer, I too was laid off. After the initial shock it morphed into sadness because I miss the people. I miss immersing myself into my Google career and culture.''

Despite all this, he still looks back fondly at his time at the company, saying he ''will miss it''.

''Through it all, I'm lucky & proud I played a pivotal role in creating scalable video and a wonderful community within Google. I'll truly miss it,'' he added.

In a similar story, a Google employee who gave birth to her second child on January 19 shared she was laid off while she was still in the hospital, holding her hours-old newborn baby. Another Google employee, who was laid off, revealed he worked as a recruiter at the company. He got to know about getting laid off when his call with a potential candidate was cut off abruptly.

Google last week announced it's making 12,000 roles redundant, becoming the latest tech major to cut jobs after years of growth. Chief executive officer (CEO) Sundar Pichai stressed the cuts were made after careful consideration and stated that Google will "support" employees as they look for other opportunities.

"We've decided to reduce our workforce by approximately 12,000 roles. We've already sent a separate email to employees in the US who are affected. In other countries, this process will take longer due to local laws and practices," Mr Pichai said in a statement.

Video Shows The Moment Odisha Health Minister Was Shot

A shocking video of the exact moment that Odisha Health Minister Naba Kisore Das was shot at by an assistant sub-inspector today has emerged. Though the clip doesn't show the attacker, it clearly shows Mr Das getting shot from very close range just as he steps out of his car.

A loud gunshot noise can be heard amid sloganeering from his supporters. Naba Das could be seen staggering back to the seat, holding his chest. He can then be seen trying to step out while pressing on his bleeding chest. The video footage then becomes shaky as the person shooting it appears to hastily turn the camera towards the crowd, which runs after the shooter.

Another video clip Videos showed Mr Das bleeding from the chest with people trying to lift the injured minister, who at this point seemed unconscious, and place him on the front seat of a car.

Mr Das was shot near Gandhi Chowk near Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday around 1 pm, on his way to attend a programme. The police officer shot two rounds, critically injuring the minister, who was rushed to a hospital. He was later airlifted to Bhubaneswar, witnesses said.

Assistant Sub-inspector of Police (ASI) Gopal Das, who fired at the minister, has been arrested.

UK PM Dismisses Conservative Party Chairman After Tax Probe

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Sunday fired Conservative party chairman Nadhim Zahawi after an inquiry into Zahawi's tax affairs found a "serious breach" of ministerial rules, the government said.

"As a result, I have informed you of my decision to remove you from your position in His Majesty's Government," Sunak wrote in a publicly released letter to his Iraqi-born ally, following a scandal that cast doubt on the premier's own judgement and vows of integrity.

The government also released the inquiry report by Sunak's newly appointed independent ethics advisor, Laurie Magnus.

Magnus pulled no punches in finding that Zahawi effectively lied to successive Conservative leaders when he came under investigation by the UK's tax authority, which led to the politician handing over a fine for late payment reportedly worth £5 million ($6.2 million).

Zahawi gave shifting explanations in the affair, and initially tried to silence journalists and a tax consultant with threats of libel lawsuits.

Sunak's decision to dismiss Zahawi, rather than invite him to resign with some saving of face, underlined the serious political stakes at play at a time when millions of Britons are struggling to pay the bills.

Sunak appointed Zahawi as Conservative party chairman, and cabinet minister without portfolio, when he entered 10 Downing Street in October, when he vowed to deliver "integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level".

Zahawi was previously in the cabinet under both Liz Truss and Boris Johnson -- who appointed him as chancellor of the exchequer, in ultimate charge of the UK tax agency.

The opposition Labour party said Sunak should have fired Zahawi immediately when the allegations emerged in newspaper reports this month, rather than seeking to buy time by asking Magnus to investigate.

The scandal underlined that Sunak was a "weak" prime minister, senior Labour MP Bridget Phillipson told Sky News.

"The stench of sleaze just hangs around the Conservative party," she said.

Sunak has faced questions himself about his family's tax affairs after it emerged that his wife Akshata Murty had for years enjoyed "non-domicile" status, which shielded her from paying UK taxes on her overseas income from her family's Infosys business group.

And last week he apologised for receiving his second police fine, after he was filmed not wearing a seatbelt in the back seat of a moving car.

As chancellor himself under Johnson, Sunak was fined along with the then prime minister for attending an illegal workplace party during a Covid lockdown.

The "partygate" scandal was one of several that brought down Johnson.

Sunak's vows of integrity were in sharp contrast to that record, but he remains stalked by his predecessor's dealings in government.

A separate probe is underway into reports that just before he was made chairman of the BBC by Johnson, former banker Richard Sharp was involved in securing a private credit line for up to £800,000 ($990,000) for the then-PM from a Canadian businessman.

"Appropriate Age For Motherhood Is 22 To 30 Years": Assam Chief Minister

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said women should embrace motherhood at the "appropriate age" as it otherwise leads to medical complications. Speaking at a government function here, Mr Sarma iterated his government's commitment to stop underage marriages and motherhood.

His comments come in the backdrop of the state government deciding to bring stringent laws and evoking the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to check child marriages and underage motherhood.

"Thousands of husbands will be arrested in the next five-six months as it is a crime to have sexual relations with a girl below 14 years of age, even if he is her legally wed husband," Mr Sarma said.

The legal age for the marriage of a woman is 18 years and those who marry younger girls will also be brought to book. "Many (men who marry girls) could face life imprisonment," he said.

Speaking about motherhood, Mr Sarma said, "Women should not wait too long to become mothers as it leads to complications. The appropriate age for motherhood is 22 years to 30 years".

Women who have not married yet should do it soon, he said with a smile.

"We have been speaking against early motherhood. But at the same time, women should not wait too long either as many do ... God has created our bodies in a manner that there is an appropriate age for everything," he added.

The Assam cabinet on Monday decided to book men who marry girls below 14 years of age under the POCSO Act. Those who marry girls in the age group of 14-18 years will be tried under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.

The decision was taken to curb the high rate of maternal and infant mortality in the state, whose primary cause is child marriage, Sarma had said after the cabinet meeting.

An average of 31 per cent of the marriages in the state are in the prohibited age group, he said.

This makes Ranbir Kapoor angry who asks for the man's phone and tosses it away.

The fan can be heard pleading with the actor, but he walks away.

Watch the video:

The video has amassed thousands of views, but the viewers are claiming that the clip looks like a promotional campaign for a phone brand.

"It's AD don't mislead people," commented one user. "He wants to get him a better phone!!" commented another.

The 16-second video has appeared on several social media platforms and shared by several fans of Ranbir Kapoor.

This is not the first time that such a video has taken internet by surprise. Last month, actor Anushka Sharma posted a video slamming athleisure brand Puma for using her photos without her permission. The brand replied to Anushka, and asked her to be their brand ambassador.

In actor then posted a follow-up video, telling her followers that she is considering the proposal. "Its like being stuck at the same job as Virat" (husband Virat Kohli). "Wait, will I have to wear sports bras all day?" The actress is seen speaking to herself. She signed off the video saying: "They own our family now."

In November, Malaika Arora stunned fans with a cryptic post, which she captioned: "I said yes". As the buzz began around her post, the model-actor revealed the thing that she actually said yes to - a new reality show titled Moving In With Malaika, which started streaming on Disney+Hotstar from December 5.

Ex-Google Employee Who Was Laid Off Reveals The "Worst Part"

A former Google employee has documented the moment she got to know she has been laid off by the tech giant. In a video uploaded on YouTube and TikTok, Nicole Tsai, who was a Program Manager at Google, revealed that she figured out she had been fired when she woke up to an "ominous" text message from her boss and found her access to the company properties had been cut off.

"I rushed downstairs to find out that I had lost access to basically everything. I couldn't log into my email or even check my calendar," Ms Tsai said in the YouTube video titled 'Day in my life getting laid off at Google'. "I called my boss back and we just sobbed over the phone because she was also finding out about my layoff for the first time today too," she added.

Watch the video below:

The former Google employee said that she spent most of her day crying and scrolling through LinkedIn to read about other employees who were also impacted by the layoffs. She said that she started receiving calls from her co-workers as well as she discovered who else was let go.

"I think the worst part is that it seems like no one was consulted on this decision, and everyone was just finding out about the layoffs at the same time. It just felt like a really bad game of Russian roulette," Ms Tsai said in the video. "There was no consistency around who was let go. It was also not performance based so it just felt really random," she added.

At the end of her video, Ms Tsai also stated that she felt "so tired from being sad" that she decided to visit Disneyland to lift her mood. She also stated that she is not sure what she will do next.

Meanwhile, according to her LinkedIn page, Ms Tsai had been working at Google since July 2021. In her post, she said that she was "completely blindsided" after finding out she was being let go, but added that "there is some comfort knowing I'm not the only one".

Google last week announced it's in the process of laying off 12,000 employees. Some of the staff realised they lost their jobs when they were unable to access the systems. Chief executive officer (CEO) Sunder Pichai has stressed the cuts were made after careful consideration. He also stated that Google will "support" employees as they look for other opportunities.

The delivery man was looking for someone who had ordered McDonald's to the arena.

There is no information about how the delivery guy was able to enter the game.

A few netizens are appreciating the delivery agent's dedication, others raised concers over security during the game. A user commented, "So, instead of paying for a ticket to a game all I have to do is grab a happy meal and slap a Uber eats label on it? How'd he get into the building?". Another user wrote, "That delivery person had a job to do. Ain't no basketball game gonna get in the way."

The third user wrote, "I think "Delivery Person walking onto the court to deliver UberEats" is an all-time college basketball moment? Like, maybe right below the Jalen Suggs halfcourter from a couple of years ago? Shout out Pittsburgh man. What a beautiful place."

The fourth user asked, "Did the person who ordered Uber Eats courtside at this game have to pay for a ticket for the delivery person, how does this work."

As 'Pathaan' Releases, Fake Video Shows PM Modi Watching Its Trailer

Fans are going crazy as Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan hit the theatres on Wednesday. The film marks SRK's return to the movies after a gap of over four years, and opened to a positive response in cinema halls across the country. But amidst the frenzy, a fake video that shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoying the film's trailer in his office is going viral. The doctored video shows PM Modi clapping as action-packed scenes from Pathaan play on the television.

The video has been viewed more than 46,000 times and received nearly 100 retweets.

The 25-second video also has text super that says 'PM Modi watched Pathaan trailer in his office today'. It was posted on January 18, more than a week after Pathaan's trailer was officially released.

Users were quick to point out that it is a fake video, and asked such "misleading" things to be stopped. Others were impressed by incredible editing.

The video is actually from 2019, when PM Modi watched the launch of India's moon mission Chandrayaan-2 from his office. He is seen clapping as then ISRO chairman celebrates the lifting-off of the rocket from his office along with other space scientists.

Some users have posted the link of the original post in the comment section of the tweet.

Pathaan has the highest screen count of any Hindi release - it's showing on 8,000 screens worldwide. And out of these, 2,500 are abroad. The film has opened in over 100 countries, also a record.

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is part of producers Yash Raj Films' spy universe that also includes the Tiger films, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, and War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Shah Rukh Khan, in his first lead role after 2018's Zero, plays the titular Pathaan, a RAW agent brought in from the wilderness to tackle a terror threat. Pathaan teams up with Deepika Padukone's character against terrorist leader Jim, played by John Abraham.
